In the dynamic weighing mode the vehicle travels at low speed, typically less than 5kph, over the weighbeam, which is permanently installed into a concrete weigh lane. Vehicle classification and vehicle speed are also calculated. The system is suitable for use by Government Authorities for axle and gross vehicle weight enforcement. The LO-TRAC 100 system can be linked to up to two HI-TRAC 100 high speed weigh-in-motion systems. The HI-TRAC 100 systems perform the function of pre-selecting potentially overloaded vehicles at normal highway speeds and through message signboards alerting the driver of the vehicle to leave the highway and enter the enforcement station. Once in the enforcement station the LO-TRAC 100 system weighs the vehicle more accurately and it is either instructed to return to the highway or held, issued with a summons and the excess weight offloaded.
